Answer
February in Uruguay is a summer month: it is often warm or hot, and daytime temperatures in many areas are around 25–30 °C. Hotter periods, high humidity, thunderstorms, and sharp weather changes after a front passes are possible. On the coast, the wind makes it feel cooler.
This is a good time for the beach, but a high UV index requires protection even under cloud cover. Plan long walks for the morning or evening, drink water, and use a hat and sunscreen. For an ocean beach, also check the waves and lifeguard flags.
February remains part of the high season, especially on the coast, so accommodation and transport are best booked in advance. Before traveling, check the forecast of a specific city: temperatures in Montevideo, Punta del Este and the interior departments may vary.
