The minimum amount of practical training is set by the current departmental regulations and the training programme for the relevant licence category. In procedures for obtaining a standard car driving licence, a minimum of 15 hours is sometimes cited as a guideline, but it should be confirmed with the intendencia and driving school before paying for the course.
A minimum does not mean that the learner is ready for the exam. A person with no experience, a language barrier or unfamiliarity with local road markings may need additional lessons. Ask the instructor to assess specific skills: parking, intersections, roundabouts and proper observation.
